Built in 2002 after the original hotel burnt down in 1994, the Bemm River Hotel
offers mouth watering meals and icy cold beer. Your hosts, Barry and Rita will
make you very welcome and always make time for a friendly chat over a drink.
Apart from the bistro (counter meals daily) the hotel offers two pool tables,
satellite TV and a jukebox with big screen to view the latest music videos. So
when in Bemm for the day or an extended visit make sure you drop into the Bemm

River Bait and Tackle
If you are
holidaying in Bemm River, you will certainly need to stock up on supplies,
bread, milk, etc. Bemm River Bait & Tackle is the place to go - open seven
days a week from early in the morning, Mark and Jane are always happy to
provide you with those basic necessities including daily papers, magazines,
basic grocery items, video hire, ice and of course bait & tackle. If you
need to know where to go for that elusive fish, Mark and Jane are only too happy
to provide you with up to date information. Outside the shop is a large
whiteboard that shows who's caught what, where and with which bait. If you
manage to catch one that deserves recognition take it down to the shop, have it
weighed and its details will be posted on the board for all to see!

Orchid Wonderland
Wattsy's Orchid
Wonderland has a collection of many hundred of different varities of orchids
and is worth a vist. The orchids are under constant care from Gary and
Jaqui Watts of Banksia St., Bemm River. Visitors are welcome, and are
encouraged to phone and make an appointment, rather than be disappointed
(03) 5158 4299. Pictured below is the Cymbidium Section of the nursery which leads
into Hybrids and Natives species. See

Boat Hire
If you don't
own a boat then don't despair - boat hire is available in town that offer self
drive boat hire. Bemm River Holiday Lodge offers aluminium and the new
polycraft boats for hire at very reasonable rates. All boats are currently in
survey, carry all safety equipment and are very well maintained. Don't
worry if you've never driven a boat before, complete instruction on boat
handling is given prior to your departure - they won't let you go unless you
are confident in what your doing. So go and see David & Robin at the
Holiday Lodge or give them a call on 5158 4233 for all your boat hire
